I'm ALMOST Ashamed

(but am more entertained than ashamed)

because I FINALLY cleaned out our van. Gross, gross, gross.
Yes, that's 3 cups & little girl undies you see. And pitchers. And coupons, and gloves & insane amounts of coats.
You're wondering how?
Me too.

Momma's Quote of the Day

Heard, coming from the bathroom, earlier today:

"You Guys! No fighting while Momma's cleaning up poop!!!!"

Remember ONLY IT WASN'T TOOTSIE ROLLS?

Seriously, she never did anything like this... and this is at least his third experience with doo doo...

Just now, as he & Flynn were finishing up their baths, he not only had a BM, he proceeded to attempt to pick up the baby ruth from the tub.

The tub was also full of toys.

And things weren't firm if you know what I mean.

And I think you do.

I think you do do.

Confession

Jeff made me confess this...

Gabe's class at church had a book exchange at their party. New or gently used. So, I opted for gently used. And wrapped 2 (in case there was a kiddo who forgot or didn't know) of their like new books. Well, Jeff always helps me get things together on Sunday mornings for church. And a bag got left behind. The bag w/ the books.

Fast fwd to today, the kids are badly wanting to open a present.

So I let them.

The books from yesterday. Jeff said, "Are you really going to be that mean?"

Flynn opened "her" present & tried to act sweet & polite, "Oh wow, look mom...another book like this one."

Then, I was overcome with guilt & let them open a "real" gift.

One of my BFFs, Elizabeth, always remembers my kiddos at Christmas & got Flynn this great dr kit. Which has a pair of glasses with it (?: do doctors wear glasses??). Anyway, she looks darn cute in them:

Reasons I Should Not Supervise Children, Installment #2

We had to wake Flynn from her nap, which typically means damage control for about the next hour or baby prozac, one of the two.
I joined Jeff who was bedside, doing his darndest to make her smile.

I laid next to her & instantly my crazy took over. I started to cry like a baby (have I mentioned what a fabulous baby voice I have?) & she kinda laughed but asked what I was doing.

"How about I be the baby & you can be my momma?" I proposed.

She was happy to oblige & I started to cry for a cup. My legs went flailing up & so did my arms... I cried for a cup & cried for my momma.
She hopped up & started toward the kitchen & that's when I gave her the idea of pretending her bookshelf was a refrigerator & she could give me a "pretend cup." She did & I gulped that right down & started crying for another.
She was a quick & obedient mother; but was still not quite as amused as I thought (hoped) she'd be.

That's when my legs went up again & I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but I made a 'noise' (you know what I'm getting at here) & told her, "Waa, waa, change my diaper."

Her already-large eyes, got even bigger & she stood frozen in the middle of her room, very much deer in the headlights. I said it again, "Baby go poo-poo!! Waa, waa, change baby's diaper!!!!"

By this point, she was edging toward her doorway & had a look in her eyes that I possibly have never seen.

"I don't think I want to play this anymore."

And out the door she went.

I Couldn't Have Planned It Any Better...

Shortly after returning from vacaysh (hence the lack of upkeep on the pool & its mossy water),
Jeff yelled at me from his bathroom.
In an excited tone, he beckoned for me to look out his window.
And THIS is what we saw:

We laughed in glee & high-fived & cheered for the little rodent's death.

My only sadness?

That I didn't see the squirrel fall into the pool, then, well, you know what follows...

But, last Sunday, our wish came through.

Again, from his bathroom (are you starting to follow that he spends a great deal of time in there), Jeff yells for me to look! out the window!

And to my delight, there the pesky, nasty rodent, was doggy-paddling (do you call it doggy paddle when it's a squirrel?), the perimeter of the pool.

Apparently these little guys have been scaling the side of the pool, then plummeting to their death. But this one we got to watch, swimming, then attempting to scale the side, and treading some more.

The really sick thing is that we laughed from the window, giggling, videoing it with the camera phone, giggling some more, high fiving, evil laughter (mm'wa ah ah), & high fiving some more.

All on the Sabbath, nonetheless.
